The dun roan stallion galloped in. Word had spread that the Bekran Desert was free. He strided in and smelled around the desert. Sweat was causing his pelt to darken and beads of sweat dripped off him. The brute could get accustomed to the heat. Not many horses could do that but his mare could. She was carrying his foal but it would be a long time until she would birth the heir. That was fine. Then he had her pathetic dam to have as a broodmare. He was glad he found a different place to live. That way Faramir wouldn't find them so easily.
Rearing high after making sure no one occupied the territory he screamed out defiantly his neck proudly arched, and ears laid back. I Red Fury claim Bekran Desert any who choose to fight for this land show themselves and I will gladly fight them. he snapped loudly across the land.
Hearing no one he landed heavily leaving his hoofprints, muscles bunching he ran off to bring his small harem with him to get used to their new home. Water and food weren't over-abundant but there was enough for everyone and it would be perfect. That way he would know who was hardy and who wasn't. Those who weren't strong would die. Those who were, would live. The land would help pick those who belonged.

It was hot here, really really hot. Well, of course it was hot, it was a desert after all. Blade tossed his head and snorted, his black forelock was plastered to his head from the sweat on his body. He hadn't been traveling for long, but he had been looking for a place to stay with no luck. This place, this desert, smelt free of equine, so he headed there in hopes to claim it for himself. But he was wrong, as he got closer, he could smell a stallion. His scent was everywhere and Blade could only assume it was this stallion's home. He snorted once more and stomped his foot, then picked up an extended trot towards the horse.
The buckskin stud finally found the brute that owned the land. He reared before him, neighing out harshly. "I want this land," he snorted, glaring at the brute before him. Blade was an older horse, he grew up with a bunch of stallions just as harsh as he was. This horse looked young, almost like a colt. Blade smirked, cocking his head. "You're just a little thing, I could easily take you." He tossed his head hard, causing his black mane bounced off his neck, then reached out and pawed the ground in front of him. "Come on, let's go," he grunted, grinning at the horse.
Blade trotted closer to the horse, lashing his head out, teeth bared, appearing as if he were going to bite the brute. He shot his head back and let out a cold laugh, trotting around the horse. Blade was ready for this. He had challenged stallions before. He lost some battles, but also won some. Fighting was an adrenaline rush, who couldn't agree with that? The stallion stopped prancing when he made if back in front of the dun horse. This horse may have been taller than himself, but he was a young horse. He didn't have the knowledge and wisdom of Blade. Blade blinked, staring at the brute, a smirk made up his expression. His sides moved slowly as he breathed, his tail flickered. It was such a quiet, still day. Wonderful.
ooh: Hey, I've never challenged anyone for land before, but I thought this would be a wonderful thing for my Blade to do. Hope you're not mad; if he loses, he'll go harass other horses. ;3

Right as the stallion began to leave he sensed another presence. Flattening his ears back against his skull and with teeth barred he screamed out in defiance. He needed this land. For his mate who carried his child and their slave. They would not be without a home. The stallion who entered and challenged him looked like he was older. That was fine. Older didn't always mean better. Perhaps wiser in some aspects but Fury lived to fight and he was good at it. He had only lost to Arrakis because the stallion was a worthy opponent and knew how to fight well. He watched as the buckskin pranced around him. Watch it mutt! I may be a little thing to your eyes but don't underestimate me. If you wish to fight let's fight! I'll meet you at the Battleground he snarled savagely. It took every ounce not to pummel the smart mouthed stallion into the ground. But he would pay for that. Yes he would. Fury was no push over despite his young age. Stomping his hoof angrily and flicking his tail in rage he arched his neck and pranced in place. This stallion was messing with the wrong horse. The smirk on his face would vanish when he saw just how fierce Fury was in battle. Pivoting effortlessly he galloped off to the Battleground. This fight wouldn't last long. ooc: It's fine don't worry I'm not mad. We have to meet at the Battleground and fight for land that way. So I'll start the thread and you can reply there.

The other brute looked upset. His ears were flat, just like Blade's, and he watched Blade with a close eye. So the battlegrounds, eh? The stallion nodded and smiled at the stallion, cocking an eyebrow. Blade watched the stallion spin on his heels and gallop off, most likely to this 'battleground' place he spoke of. He felt it was strange they had to go elsewhere to fight, but he shrugged it off. He lowered his head and grabbed a mouthful of grass before trotting slowly in the direction the stallion went.
