Broken Souls is a wild horse role play with a unique, detailed plot. The plot is based more on fantasy than reality. It's similar to your average dark, light and neutral equine roleplay, though with several different twists to make this site fresh and interesting. High ranks like king and queen of a herd are open, and auditions are not currently required, but Broken Souls is gaining members everyday, so join now to secure a position at the very top!

p l o t
INTRODUCTION ,
For centuries equines have been tamed and fondled by the hands of man. They became tools and useful creatures for the two legged kind. As the years slowly inch along new techonologies where invented. Automobiles became the newest for of transportation. Equines became obsolete. They where only considered as 'leisure activities' or 'forms of sports'. The economy slumped and people started to lose money. Hore owners tried their hardest to sell their livestock and get rid of the extra expenses that come with them. When the beasts weren't being bought owners began to neglect their duties as pet owners. Equines across the country grew thin and weak with starvation. Few where shipped over seas to slaughters and to made into meat and glue. A few activists took initiative to save as many equines as they could. Finding a small secluded island that was protected by the government, they shipped as many equines that had been neglected, abused, wild, and with other afflictions to this island to live. Once on thier own the equines flourished and began to thrive and populate the entire chunk of earth. They seperated into herds and formed their own ranks and terras. No human has touched the land ever since that day and none ever will.
EQUUS ENSLAVEMENT ,
Heated rays of light beat down on the sweat slicked pelts of the Diei herd. The equines' bodices where racked with pleasure as they grazed on the tender stalks that sprouted from the sod. An overo bay stallion stood watch over them all. Brown portals lifted skywards as a few grey puffs floated across the azure atmosphere. His satellites flicked forward to catch all the muffled and stiffled neighs and whinnies from the foals and their mothers. The cushioned thud of daggers on grass erupted from behind his flank. His scouts where returning. Bracken, Ebruto, and Werhen appeared on both his left and right flanks. Bracken, a bay stud, parted his mug to emit his low song. He luted softly so no other equines could over hear. The Nightwanderers are on their way. From what we couuld see there was way over one hundred. Bracken kept his voice calm and steady, but on the inside he was trembling. There was no way they could fight off all of those horses. He remembered the time when the herds had formed. The nightwanders had formed the Nox Noctis herd. The loved the shadows and the darkness that surrounded the ebony sky. Bracken was in the Diei herd. The where known as the sunwanderers. The Nox Noctis herd had begun to start odd rituals. They would slaughter multiple foals and dot themselves and their friends with the crimson liquid. They would prance around the limp form several times before they wouuld devour the corpse. Now the Nox Noctis herd was on the move to enslave and capture the Diei herd. As long as Bracken could remember, the Diei herd had always been on the move, and now they were out of room to flee. The overo stallion looked at his herd. For over five rotations they fled from the flesh-eating beasts, but now they had no where to go. His mug parted and he luted his soft song to Bracken. Brave scouts, gather as much as you can of the herd. If they want to follow you flee over the mountains. The whole herd cannot make it. Those who want to fight can stay, but those who can't might as well stay. Now leave, find yourselves shelter. His portals clouded and misted as sorrow filled his heart. This was his last year reigning and he felt the fear enter his heart. Bracken turned and nodded to the other scouts and they raced to the herd. Word travelled quick and all young and youthful dames and brutes that wished fled south over the mountains. Still a large chunk of the herd remained. Their where some wanting a fight and others where either to young or to old to travel that far. The flesheaters came and quickly overpowered the few brutes that stayed behind to fight. Crimson stains poured over the growing stalks. What was left of the Diei mares and young stallions where enslaved. The overo bay stag fought as valiant as an aged brute can. He died with honor as the Nox Noctis equines began to feast upon the fall victims.
OVER THE MOUNTAIN ,
Bracken lead over seventy-five free equines up and over the mountains. Snow fell and shook their bones and rattled their hearts. Their craniums hung low with defeat written across their facades. Only Bracken had the defiant look that portrayed what he would one day accomplish. Once on the other side the equines made a home and a new herd, the Furtum herd. The Furtum herd has remained hidden to this very day. None knew what had happened to their fellow Diei herdmates that stayed behind. Only the wind could bring the sorrows and pains that the enslaved Diei herd suffered. The Nox Noctis ruled over them. When they wanted pleasure and to torture thats who they called. The nightwanderers or flesheaters had their playthings, but they wanted more. It was written before Bracken's era about how a great revolt would erupt. The land would be spilled with crimson dew and rain. Few would survive and a new period of peace would emerge, the vicis de valde pacis . Maybe one day it will come true. Until then the Diei herd is enslaved and the Furtum herd tries to remain hidden, but some secrets cannot always be kept secret. The Nox Noctis herd is preparing for to scour the land to find the missing Furtum herd. The Furtum herd is plotting to help their Diei brethren. The Diei herd is just asking each other when the suffering will stop. Its up to you, are you for delieverance or for enslavement? The balance of life and death is in your hands.
