Welcome to Lefora... The land was black. It was black and barren. A wasted land. The humans have come and gone. A second Ice Age all but wiping them from existance. There are some who have managed to survive, reverting back to their more baser natures. The animals were also nearly wiped out. The ocean, layered with a disgusting green slime that seems to be alive at times, is deeper than it has ever been. It covers ninety percent of the world now; leaving only a single, large continent for all the creatures to survive on. A husk of land where a wildfire raged soon after the snows of the Ice Age melted away. The world as we know it, as humans in the twenty-first century, is dead. It has been reborn, cleansed of all the damage we have done to it. Welcome to the new world.
For centuries the creatures on this Earth have made do with what little they had. The world has been reseeded, some say by God, and it grows green once more. The humans are still small in number, the small continent preventing them from expanding too much. Population control measures have been implemented; too horrific to describe. The equines have been left in peace, away from the humans for the most part. They survive in many small herds, each believing one thing or another. Miniature cults, almost - each with a greater purpose in mind.
Those of Reines Licht believe that in all things there is goodness. They believe in peace and free will, in "please" and "thank you" and "excuse me." They believe that to kill another creature, as an herbavor, is useless and mindnumbing - a telltale sign of stupidity. They are not snobs, far from it. They simply believe in the pure of heart. The path of the Light.
Those of Verdorbene Seelen believe that there is nothing to believe in. There is no purpose in their world but personal gain. To be the highest ranked, the being of supreme power. They kill, torture, and maim for the information they desire. And just because it is fun. Some have even acquired a taste for flesh instead of the regular vegetation. Some of the more zealous beings have even taken to sharpening their teeth upon rocks.
Each side stays far from the other. As if a plague would come upon them if they got too close. But there are times when the battles become more than just flying words and sneers. A war has been simmering for nearly a century and has finally broken out. Each side fights to defend their beliefs, just as their ancestors once did.
What side will you be on? Lefora
